Playing on DForces
Dark Forces RPG is a command driven game. You type a command and your
character performs the action. You must always press the ENTER key after
every command to send it to the game.
- Basic commands: Some basic commands we'll teach you here.

- Learn your town:
As a beginner, you must first familiarize yourself with your
surroundings. The best way to do that is to recognize the
rooms that you pass through while reading the map. You should
have a map located in your inventory. Type LOOK MAP.
- Walk around: You'll find out where you are as you walk
around town. You can walk by typing a directional command.
Some directional commands are: NORTH, EAST, SOUTH, WEST, DOWN, UP.
To find out what directions you can go, look at the image below
and try to find it in the game.
- Are you a killer? Yes you are. That is how you gain
abilities. You must kill. As you walk around, the tips system
should tell you about what you can kill. Do what it tells you.
- Talk with other players: You're not playing by yourself,
although you can choose to. Players are not always distinguishable
from NPC characters (Non-Player Character), but generally its
easy to tell by their names. When you see one, type SAY HI.
- Other things you'll want to do:
- Find your guild and learn your abilities (read the map).
- Start using those abilities to gain levels.
- Form a group with other players (helps you level).
- Find new equipment. Type EQUIPMENT and INVENTORY.
